studio.POC has been invited at the 14th Biennale of Havana, Cuba on March 12th, 2022!
On March 12, from the moment the sun goes down, a unique spectacle will take place at Plaza Vieja in Havana as part of the 14th Havana Biennial.
Cuban and Belgian artists partner up for a dynamic co-created arts performance: FRAMED.
This new art form combines live digital animated graffiti and music into a large scale projection mapping. Starting from the interpretation of the surrounding, the colonial architecture, the animated mural will transform into a reflection of the changes in contemporary society and an artistic perception of the future.
Different artists collaborate and express themselves in an audiovisual dialogue, based on free association and collaboration referring to jazz-improvisations, and give this main square in old Havana a contemporary urban arts atmosphere.
The performance is directed by Janna Beck (Royal Academy Antwerp) and produced in co-creation with, Kristof Timmerman (Maxlab), Kris Meeusen (Lab101), Esequiel Villa (Tocar Pronto) and Milton Raggi (Axis Visual lab) for the 14th Bienale of Havana.
A collaboration with ISA, Cuban artists and art collectives:
Among them the contemporary Havana graffiti scene, Ossain Raggi & students and alumni from ISA, Esequiel Villa & Cuban musicians, Milton Raggi & contemporary digital artists, Yunier Guerrero, Luis Antonio González Rodríguez,…
